The St-Tropez® family of watches was born in 1984 from the desire to create a timepiece to match flair and irresistible allure of French style, summertime splendour and international glamour.
Paying homage to Brigitte Bardot in the 1960’s South of France, the original St-Tropez® was a Swiss watch elevated to “jewel watch” with its unique steel cable bracelet and its fine integrated marine chain.
Philippe Charriol was inspired by the allure of the tennis bracelet that rose to popularity and was worn by women of social status in the late ‘80s, a symbol of luxury and style. He connected the bracelet to the watch, to create what would become one of the icons of the house.
Always designing for women first, the bijoux montre became emblematic of Charriol's collections.
Acknowledging tribute to the sharp luxury and supple charm of the Cote d’Azur, it proudly bears its trademarked name for four decades.
Coralie Charriol’s first assignment when taking over the Maison from her late father, was to redesign this icon for the modern woman. This year, she adds to the collection three new novelties, playing with the bezels and dials of highly technical craftsmanship.
MONOGRAM: the first pays tribute to the nostalgia of peak ‘90’s logomania, trending again in 2025, and often a part of Charriol’s branding and boutique decor, with a gold or silver color dial finely engraved of signature C’s and enhanced with 10 diamond hour-markers.
GUILLOCHE MOTHER OF PEARL: Another in the collection with two refined designs of guilloché mother-of-pearl dials - evocative of the mood and sparkle of the sea, and creating a kaleidoscope effect that recalls the Saint-Tropez of Bardot’s era. Available in the original 25mm diameter size and in the 30mm model with a 3-hands Swiss quartz movement.
ECLIPSE: The third model has an asymmetrical face, with off-center circles and mother-of-pearl bezel that opens onto a white mother-of-pearl dial, with a small seconds window, and decorated with a circle of white diamonds. The combination of mother-of-pearl discs and diamond circles evokes a solar map or the orbits of the stars and planets in the universe. The hour markers, whether in Roman numerals, index or diamond, add a refined and most feminine touch. The most minimalist version, with the circumferences of the bezel set with diamonds, creates the illusion of an eclipse, emphasised by the purposefully positioned asymmetrical circles, where the sun seems to be playing with the moon on your wrist.
What each St-Tropez® Swiss-made quartz timepiece shares in common is the signature Charriol cable strap, alongside the chain bracelet, exclusively made in Charriol’s factory. The new novelties offer something beyond timekeeping, they embrace the brand's motto to “Live Different’.
