Spanish Pro Surfer Violeta Sanchez

The Charriol Surf Squad expands with the arrival of the vibrant and ever graceful Violeta Sanchez. A native of Somo Beach, near Santander on the northern coast of Spain, Violeta grew up in the water. Her parents are both surfers, and got her hooked on the sport at the age of five. She carries the instincts and ease of a child athlete - every move as natural in the water as on land. Innate talent meets an admirable work ethic, which has paid off as she continues to win competitions around the world. 

I had admired her fluidity in the water from afar, but this spring I was able to surf alongside her at the amazing breaks of the Maldives. It’s no surprise to learn she is as generous as she is determined; it was a treat to learn so much technique and style from her on the water. A sporty lifestyle leads to a sunny disposition, and Violeta is proof of that. As she confidently crosses the globe with surfboard in tow, she truly embodies L'Art de Vivre la Difference.
